Born in Hiroshima in 1992, OLI commenced their practice in 2014. Since approximately 2020, OLI’s work has been developed under an autonomous structural principle designated as “WARP.” This principle consists in the deliberate distortion and reconfiguration of pictorial fragments, thereby engendering an indeterminate harmony that resists subsumption into pre-existing orders. It constitutes an attempt to arrest a momentary beauty upon the static plane of painting while retaining a state of fluidity. At present, while maintaining painting as a core medium, OLI extends their activity into the fields of music, fashion, and film, advancing a rigorously cross-disciplinary practice. 1992年広島県生まれ。2014年より活動を開始。2020年頃から、“WARP”と呼ばれる独自の構成原理のもと、制作を続けている。WARPは、図像の断片を意図的に歪めて再構成することで、既存の整序に還元されない未定型の調和を生み出し、絵画という静的な平面上に、流動性を保ちながら刹那的な美をとどめようとする試みである。現在は絵画を軸に、音楽・ファッション・映像分野にも活動を広げ、領域横断的に制作を展開している。
